Bio
Recruited from Launceston with pick 16 in the 2012 National Draft, Jackson Thurlow began his career at Geelong as a promising rebounding defender known for his elite kicking skills and composure under pressure. He appeared destined for a long tenure in the Cats' backline until a torn ACL in the 2016 pre-season wiped out his entire year and significantly stalled his momentum. Upon returning, he found it difficult to bypass Geelong's established defensive veterans and was traded to Sydney at the end of 2018 in search of greater opportunity. Despite the fresh start, Thurlow struggled to cement a regular spot in the Swans' best 22, often oscillating between the reserves and the senior side in a variety of utility roles before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2020 season.
