Bio
Hailing from New South Wales, Jacob Bauer took a determined path to the top level, bypassing the draft out of the Sydney Swans Academy to prove his credentials with North Adelaide in the SANFL. His commanding aerial presence and goalkicking form convinced Richmond to select him with pick 10 in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft. An athletic key forward with strong hands and a reliable set shot, Bauer quickly built a reputation as a clutch performer in the VFL, notably kicking consecutive after-the-siren match-winners in his first full season. However, his senior career was marred by cruel injury timing; his AFL debut in 2023 lasted less than two minutes before a hamstring strain forced him off, and just as he began to establish himself in the senior lineup in 2025, a ruptured ACL in the reserves ultimately led to his delisting at the end of the season.
