Recruited from Peel Thunder with the second pick in the 2024 Mid-Season Draft, Jacob Blight arrived at Punt Road as a mature-age reinforcement tasked with shoring up a Tigers defence decimated by injury. A strong-bodied intercept marker who had established himself as one of the WAFL's premier backs, he was fast-tracked into the senior side and debuted within a month of his arrival. While primarily recruited as a key defender to combat the competition's tall forwards, he displayed versatility during his second season, swinging forward to boot three goals when required. However, as Richmond's key defensive stocks replenished and the club focused on a youth-led rebuild, Blight was unable to cement a permanent spot in the best 22 and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2025 season.
