Bio
Recruited from Tasmanian club Lauderdale with pick 49 in the 2010 National Draft, Jacob Gillbee was a member of the Gold Coast Suns' inaugural squad. A skilled left-footed midfielder and forward known for his precise disposal by foot, he faced significant competition for senior opportunities within a list stockpiled with elite junior talent. His development was briefly overshadowed in his first season when he served a club-imposed suspension for a dangerous social media stunt, though he eventually broke into the senior side to make his debut in 2012. Gillbee managed six games across two active seasons, showing glimpses of his kicking efficiency, but struggled to cement a regular spot in the rotation and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2013 season.
