Bio
Hailing from Cairns, Jacob Heron was a Gold Coast Suns Academy graduate who joined the club via the rookie list ahead of the 2018 season. He quickly etched a unique entry into the history books by becoming the first player to make his AFL debut in China, running out against Port Adelaide in Shanghai during Round 9 of his first year. A diminutive utility standing just 174cm, Heron relied on his pace and tackling pressure to impact contests, splitting his time between a defensive forward role and a running half-back. Despite his early breakthrough, he struggled to cement a permanent position in the senior lineup and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2020 season after 13 appearances.
