Bio
Recruited from within the club's own VFL program, Jake Aarts was a mature-age rookie selection who carved out a niche as a high-pressure small forward. Renowned for his tenacious tackling and defensive work rate inside 50 rather than high possession counts, he broke into the senior side in 2020 and became a regular fixture during the Tigers' successful campaign. However, his tenure is often remembered for a moment of personal heartbreak, as he played 14 games that season but was omitted from the Grand Final side to accommodate returning senior midfielders. Aarts continued to provide depth over the following two seasons but struggled to hold his spot against emerging young talent, eventually being delisted at the conclusion of the 2022 season.
