Bio
Jake Medved is a key defender from Manly Warringah who has emerged as a developing prospect for the Sydney Swans Academy. Plucked from a touch football background last year by a Swans scout, he quickly adapted to Australian rules football and represented the Allies at the 2026 National Championships. Medved earned an invitation to the state draft combine and made his VFL debut for Sydney late in the season, performing well in a strong win over Greater Western Sydney. As an academy player, the Swans are expected to match any rival bids for him on draft night.
Known for his high-end speed and natural athleticism, Medved plays with strong attacking instincts in the back half. Scouts praise his agility, clean hands and ability to rebound out of defence, noting how he often ventures up the ground to set up transitional play. While he is still working on his decision making and kicking on the run after his recent switch to the sport, his physical traits stand out. He is widely rated as a top-40 talent in this year's draft pool.
