Bio
A genuine draft bolter, James Davies was selected by Essendon with pick 17 in the 2000 National Draft directly out of Xavier College, bypassing the traditional TAC Cup pathway. Standing 191cm, the athletic utility arrived at Windy Hill with significant upside but found it difficult to break into a star-studded Bombers lineup that had just dominated the league. After managing just three senior appearances across three seasons—including a debut against Port Adelaide in 2002—he was delisted but showed enough character to be handed a lifeline via the club's rookie list for 2004. Despite the second chance, Davies was unable to add to his game tally and was permanently released at the end of the season, eventually continuing his football journey with East Fremantle in the WAFL.
