Bio
James McLure was a small midfielder from the Geelong region whose perseverance saw him reach the AFL level after an initial setback. Recruited by Collingwood with pick 11 in the 1992 Mid-Season Draft, he spent two seasons at Victoria Park but was unable to crack the senior lineup before being delisted. He returned to his hometown and was offered a second chance by Geelong via the pre-season supplementary draft, eventually making his debut in Round 9, 1995. McLure played three games for the Cats, with his most notable performance coming in a 21-disposal effort against the Brisbane Bears at Kardinia Park. Following his departure from the AFL, he moved to South Australia where he carved out a distinguished 100-game career with Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL.
