Bio
Recruited from the Southport Sharks in Queensland, James Mulligan was selected by the Western Bulldogs with pick 4 in the 2008 Rookie Draft as a long-term key position prospect. Standing 199cm, he spent the vast majority of his five-year tenure developing with VFL affiliate Williamstown, where he often found his pathway to the senior side blocked by the club's established defensive pillars. A stopper capable of pinch-hitting in the ruck, Mulligan eventually earned a long-awaited debut in Round 19, 2011 against West Coast, but found further opportunities scarce at the elite level. He managed just three career games before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2012 season.
