Bio
Recruited from Norwood in the SANFL with pick 24 in the 1997 National Draft, Wasley arrived at Victoria Park with a reputation for blistering speed that had earned him the nickname "Flying Machine" in South Australia. A versatile utility capable of playing as a running defender, winger, or half-forward, his time at Collingwood was ultimately defined by a relentless string of setbacks that prevented him from establishing a permanent spot in the senior side. After delaying his debut until Round 13 of his first season due to foot stress fractures, he showed promise as a rebounding defender before knee and shoulder issues derailed his 1999 and 2000 campaigns. Unable to take the field at all in 2001 due to a severe ankle injury, the unlucky South Australian was delisted at season's end, eventually returning to the SANFL without having reached his full potential at the top level.
