Bio
Recruited from the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, Jared Poulton was a tenacious small defender characterised by his grit, desperate tackling, and willingness to put his body on the line. His career path was defined by resilience, notably fighting his way back onto the senior list via the national draft after being delisted early in his tenure. Poulton etched his name into club folklore during Round 15, 2002, when he calmly slotted a match-winning set shot from outside 50 metres after the siren to defeat the Sydney Swans at the SCG. While he was a regular member of the dominant 2004 squad, he heartbreakingly missed the club's historic premiership victory due to a hamstring injury sustained late in the season, eventually retiring in 2005 with cult hero status among the Alberton faithful.
