Bio
Recruited from Glenelg with pick 54 in the 2000 National Draft, Jarrad Sundqvist was a promising defensive prospect whose AFL career was ultimately derailed by injury. Standing 189cm, he bided his time in the reserves before breaking into the senior side late in 2002, showing signs he could become a reliable fixture in the Swans' backline. He played the bulk of his football in 2003, but his progress was halted by a serious knee injury that forced him to miss the entire 2004 season. By the time he recovered, the Swans were marching toward their historic 2005 premiership, and Sundqvist was unable to force his way back into Paul Roos' settled 22. Delisted at the end of that season, he returned to the SANFL with the Tigers, but ongoing fitness issues eventually forced him into early retirement.
