Bio
Originally emerging through the VFL system where he won the Fothergill-Round Medal with Geelong's reserves, Jason Davenport spent two seasons on the Cats' list during their dominant premiership era but failed to break into the senior side. Seeking greater opportunities, the goal-kicking midfielder was traded to Port Adelaide ahead of the 2009 season, where he finally made his AFL debut. A high-energy half-forward capable of pushing into the midfield, Davenport's time at Alberton was highlighted by a match-winning four-goal performance against West Coast in 2010 that showcased his running power and finishing ability. Despite displaying flashes of genuine potential, he struggled to maintain a consistent place in the Power's best 22 and was delisted at the conclusion of the 2011 season.
