Teams

Recruited from Port Melbourne in the VFA, Jason Love initially spent time on Essendon's list during their 1985 premiership year but failed to crack the formidable senior side. He found his footing after a move to North Melbourne, where he played as a serviceable forward for four seasons, contributing handy goal tallies despite fluctuating selection. His career found its true peak after he transferred to the Sydney Swans, where he was thrown a lifeline following a season out of the league. In 1991, Love became a focal point in the Swans' attack, booting 52 goals to claim the club's leading goalkicker award in his first season in the harbour city. Though his AFL tenure ended just a year later, that prolific campaign cemented his status as a notable contributor during a transitional era for the Swans.
