Bio
Recruited from Claremont, Jason Norrish began his AFL career with Melbourne after being selected at pick 5 in the 1991 National Draft. While he displayed immediate potential as a skillful ball-winner with the Demons, his time in Victoria was short-lived. The entry of the Fremantle Dockers into the competition in 1995 provided an opportunity to return to Western Australia, and Norrish signed on as a high-profile inaugural squad member, becoming a central figure in the club's formative years.
A poised and intelligent midfielder who later transitioned into a defensive role across half-back, Norrish was renowned for his reliable disposal and ability to read the play. He served as a vice-captain and provided much-needed stability and leadership during the Dockers' often difficult early campaigns. Although persistent knee injuries frequently interrupted his momentum and eventually forced his retirement in 2002, he remains a respected figure in Fremantle history as a foundational player who notched nearly 150 senior games.
