Bio
Recruited from the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, Jason Ramsey arrived at Fitzroy via the pre-season draft during the club's tumultuous final year in the AFL. Standing 189cm, the tall defender was thrown into the fray for two senior appearances in 1996 as the Roys limped toward their inevitable merger. While he was overlooked by the newly formed Brisbane Lions, Ramsey was thrown a lifeline by Richmond via the rookie draft, earning elevation to the senior list at Punt Road. However, his time at Tigerland was marred by misfortune, with a serious shoulder injury wiping out his 1998 campaign and preventing him from adding to his game tally before his eventual delisting. He remains a unique footnote in league history as one of the final players to debut for the foundation Fitzroy club.
