Bio
Selected with pick 33 in the 2003 National Draft, Jed Adcock became a fixture of the Brisbane Lions during the club's difficult transition following their premiership dynasty. Primarily utilized as a rebounding defender who could rotate through the midfield, Adcock was renowned for his professionalism, courage, and consistency rather than flashy brilliance. His high standing within the playing group saw him elevated to co-captain alongside Jonathan Brown in 2013 before serving as the sole skipper in 2014. However, his tenure at the Gabba ended unceremoniously in 2015 when he was advised his contract would not be renewed as the Lions aggressively pursued a youth-focused rebuild.
Seeking to extend his career, Adcock was recruited by the Western Bulldogs in the rookie draft for the 2016 season. He provided valuable mentorship and depth to a developing list, often playing roles as a defensive forward or across half-back. Although he managed 13 senior games in his final year, he did not feature in the Bulldogs' premiership finals campaign, eventually retiring with over 200 games of experience to immediately pursue a career in coaching.
