Bio
Recruited from Sturt in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, Jed McEntee carved out a career at Port Adelaide as a specialist defensive forward known for his relentless pressure rather than high possession counts. While he initially cut his teeth as a midfielder in the SANFL, he found his niche at AFL level by performing selfless lockdown roles on opposition rebounding defenders, earning the trust of the coaching staff for his discipline and tackling intensity. His most productive period came in 2023 when he became a fixture in the Power's starting lineup, but he found opportunities limited in 2025, managing just five senior appearances. McEntee was delisted at the conclusion of the 2025 season, leaving Alberton as a respected role player who maximized his opportunity at the elite level.
