Bio
Hailing from Cobram, Jeff Cassidy was a precocious talent who debuted for Geelong as a 17-year-old in 1974. A versatile utility at VFL level who stood 183cm, his seven-season tenure at Kardinia Park was largely defined by frustration, as persistent soft-tissue injuries severely hampered his continuity and restricted him to just 50 senior appearances. Unable to consistently crack the best 22 due to his body letting him down, he eventually found his footballing home in the WAFL with East Fremantle in 1981. Cassidy revitalised his career in the West, reinventing himself as a prolific forward who topped the Sharks' goalkicking on two occasions, finally delivering on the potential that Geelong fans had only seen in glimpses.
