Jeff Farmer

Recruited from South Fremantle, Jeff Farmer burst onto the scene with Melbourne in the mid-1990s, quickly earning the nickname "The Wizard" for his mercurial ability to turn matches with moments of brilliance. A classic small forward capable of taking soaring marks over much taller opponents and crumbing goals from impossible angles, he became a cult figure at the Demons. His tenure in red and blue peaked during the 2000 season, where he earned All-Australian honours and played a pivotal role in the club's run to the Grand Final, famously booting nine goals in a single half against Collingwood.

Seeking a return to his home state of Western Australia, Farmer was traded to Fremantle following the 2001 season. While his time at the Dockers was occasionally interrupted by tribunal suspensions, he remained a damaging offensive weapon and topped the club's goalkicking list on four occasions. He famously haunted his former side with a goal after the siren to secure a victory in 2002 and was a key contributor during Fremantle's 2006 preliminary final campaign. Farmer retired in 2008 as one of the most prolific small forwards of the modern era, renowned for his showmanship and instinctive goal sense.
