Bio
A local recruit from Middle Park, Jeff "Torch" McGee etched his name into South Melbourne folklore early by kicking a goal with his very first kick in VFL football during his 1967 debut against Carlton. Standing 185cm, he operated as a capable forward option who could hit the scoreboard, averaging a goal a game during his short tenure at the Lake Oval. Although his senior playing career was restricted to just seven appearances over two seasons, McGee later achieved cult status in the football world as a founding member of the Coodabeen Champions radio team, where his "Torch" persona became a fixture of footy media for over forty years.
