Bio
Recruited from local club East Brighton, Jeff Moran wasted little time establishing himself in St Kilda's midfield, becoming a premiership player in just his second season. A running winger known for his penetrating kicking and ability to drift forward, Moran played a pivotal role in the famous 1966 Grand Final victory over Collingwood. In the tense final quarter, he gathered possession and booted a vital running goal to extend the Saints' lead to ten points, a moment that proved critical in the one-point result.
Moran remained a constant at Moorabbin for a decade, evolving into a reliable senior figure as the list transitioned. He was one of only nine premiership players to survive long enough to feature in the club's 1971 Grand Final loss to Hawthorn, illustrating his durability during the club's golden era. After 155 games in the red, white, and black, he departed the VFL at the end of 1974 to finish his playing days with Dandenong in the VFA.
