Bio
Recruited from Southport with pick 79 in the 2006 National Draft, Jesse White entered the AFL system as a raw talent with a significant junior basketball background. His rare combination of size and speed allowed him to play as a mobile key forward who could provide relief in the ruck, a skillset that earned him a Rising Star nomination in 2009. However, finding consistency proved difficult during his time in Sydney, and despite moments of brilliance where he used his athleticism to dominate contests, he struggled to lock down a permanent role in a premiership-contending side.
With the Swans securing star forwards Kurt Tippett and Lance Franklin, White requested a trade to Collingwood at the end of 2013 in search of regular senior football. He became a staple of the Magpies' structure for several seasons, utilised for his ability to crash packs and kick long goals, though he remained a polarising figure due to the gap between his best and worst performances. White retired in 2017 after 127 games, remembered as a physically gifted utility who, while occasionally enigmatic, provided valuable structural support for two of the competition's biggest clubs.
