Stats
Bio
Recruited from the local Collingwood District side, Jim Ambler was a handy forward who earned a mid-season call-up to the senior team in 1912. He quickly demonstrated an eye for the goals, booting five majors across his six appearances to maintain a respectable strike rate during his short stint. Despite his productivity in the forward half, Ambler could not secure a permanent position in a strong Magpies lineup that would eventually finish runners-up, and his VFL career concluded after just that solitary season at Victoria Park.
