Bio
Arriving at Punt Road with a glowing reputation from Watchem-Corack in the North Central Football League, Jim Brennan was a talented country recruit who teased Richmond fans with a fleeting glimpse of his ability. Although heavily pursued by multiple VFL clubs, the Mallee wheat and sheep farmer only committed to a temporary clearance in early 1952, playing just two consecutive senior matches before prioritizing his agricultural responsibilities over league football. He returned to the bush to cement his legacy as a genuine local icon, playing over 300 games and winning an incredible eight club Best and Fairest awards, remaining one of the great "what ifs" for the Tigers who chose the farm over VFL stardom.
