Bio
Recruited from Camberwell District, Jim Burchill was a productive forward who enjoyed a brief but promising cameo for Richmond during the 1918 season. He wasted no time making an impact at Punt Road, booting a goal on debut against Essendon before starring with a three-goal haul against Carlton in just his second senior appearance. Despite kicking five goals in three consecutive matches and appearing to have cemented a spot in the Tigers' attack, he dropped out of the side as quickly as he arrived and never played VFL football again. A player whose football potential remained largely untapped, his life was cut tragically short when he was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1940.
