Bio
Hailing from the renowned football factory of Ganmain in the Riverina, Jim Carroll was a member of the prolific Carroll dynasty that became synonymous with country football in New South Wales. Recruited to Carlton in 1961 alongside his high-flying cousin and eventual Coleman Medalist, Tom Carroll, he arrived at Princes Park as part of a famous double-act from the bush. A diminutive player standing 175cm, Jim found senior opportunities scarce in a competitive Blues lineup, managing just two appearances across the 1961 and 1962 seasons. Despite his brief tenure at VFL level, he proved effective near the sticks by booting two career goals before eventually returning to the Riverina, where he remained a respected figure in the local leagues while his relative took centre stage in Melbourne.
