Bio
Recruited from the Northern District Association, Jim Clapton was a diminutive rover and forward who arrived at Princes Park in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. Standing just 169cm, he broke into the Carlton senior side for the 1946 season, donning the number 17 guernsey. Although his tenure at the top level was brief, restricted to just four appearances in a single year, the small man proved he could find the goals by booting three majors during his short stint in the navy blue.
