Stats
Bio
Born in Tasmania but developed within the Victorian football system, Jim Crossan was a diminutive rover and forward who arrived at South Melbourne via VFA club Prahran. Standing just 168cm, he had previously spent time in the North Melbourne reserves but was forced to secure a clearance from the Melbourne Football Club—which held his residential eligibility—to finally join the Bloods in 1928. Crossan managed a goal a game during his brief stint at the elite level, booting four majors in four matches, but his VFL career was fleeting. He returned to Prahran midway through the same season and later continued his career in the VFA with Port Melbourne before serving with the RAAF in New Guinea during the Second World War.
