Bio
Born in Bargoed, Wales, Jim Davies holds a unique place in history as one of the rare Welsh-born players to feature in the VFL. Recruited from Swan Hill, the winger arrived at Princes Park in 1949 and made an immediate impact, holding his spot in the senior side throughout the finals series to play in the Grand Final loss to Essendon during his debut season. Despite reaching the pinnacle of the competition in his first year, Davies found opportunities limited the following season, adding just three more matches to his tally in 1950 before departing the club.
