Stats
Bio
Jim Don was a local recruit who made a swift transition from church football to the VFL, joining Hawthorn from St Columb's Church of England. After starting the 1950 season in the thirds, he impressed selectors with his form and earned a rapid promotion to the senior side by Round 6. A medium-sized player standing 179cm, Don was thrown into the fray during a bleak period for the club, featuring in five matches during a winless wooden spoon campaign. While his rise to the top level was sharp, his career was ultimately short-lived, with his brief stint at Glenferrie Oval restricted to that single challenging season.
