Stats
Bio
Recruited from Heyfield via the Hawthorn juniors, Jim Fitzpatrick was a dashing utility who split his VFL career between defensive posts and the centre. His time at Melbourne was punctuated by frequent returns to the Gippsland region, where he played for local clubs Stratford and Maffra during breaks from league football. Despite these interruptions, he performed well enough to represent the VFL in a match against the Bendigo League in 1912. His tenure at the Fuschias ended midway through the 1913 season when, after initially seeking a clearance to VFA club Prahran, he transferred to Richmond for a seven-game stint. A talented all-round sportsman, Fitzpatrick was also a distinct cricketer who played First XI district cricket for St Kilda.
