Bio
Recruited from North Melbourne in the VFA, Jim Freeman arrived at Essendon during a period of significant on-field strength for the club. Standing 180cm, he possessed the size to compete at the top level in that era, but he faced the difficult task of breaking into a lineup that would finish the 1914 season as minor premiers. Consequently, Freeman was limited to just two senior appearances as he struggled to displace the established stars of a squad destined for that year's Grand Final, resulting in a brief tenure at the elite level.
