Bio
Recruited from Williamstown Juniors, Jim Graham holds a unique place in South Melbourne history as a one-season premiership player. He broke into the senior lineup in 1918 and immediately established himself as a reliable back pocket defender, playing 15 games in a year where the club finished minor premiers. Graham's defensive work was vital in the 1918 Grand Final, where he helped South withstand a late Collingwood surge to secure a famous five-point victory. Despite tasting the ultimate success in his rookie season, he did not continue in the VFL, transferring to Port Melbourne in the VFA the following year to leave the league with a perfect premiership conversion rate.
