Teams

Recruited from local side Footscray Tech Old Boys, Jim Greenham was a tall and versatile utility who played distinct roles for the club on either side of a career interrupted by the Second World War. Standing 183cm, a significant height for the era, he initially established himself as a marking forward or follower, kicking 24 goals across his first five seasons between 1937 and 1941. After missing the entire 1942 season due to the wartime competition suspension and service demands, Greenham returned to the Bulldogs in 1943 in strong scoring form. However, his on-field responsibilities shifted significantly in his final years; by 1945, he had transitioned into a permanent defensive or ruck role, playing every game of his last season without registering a single goal. He retired as a dependable servant of the club, having played 79 games across a tumultuous decade for the league.
