Bio
Recruited from Daylesford in country Victoria, Jim Harbison was a promising forward who managed a brief but eventful stint at the top level. He broke into the Geelong senior side in 1932, booting three goals across five games, but found it difficult to hold his place in a strong lineup. Harbison sought a fresh start with Richmond the following season, but his VFL dreams were cruelly ended when he suffered a broken leg while playing for the reserves against Fitzroy. The severe injury prompted him to retire from serious football to focus on his medical studies; he subsequently became a doctor, practising in Horsham and later in Western Australia.
