Bio
A product of the Victorian goldfields town of Eaglehawk, James "Jim" Harper found his path to the VFL via the Mercantile Juniors. His senior career at Geelong was concentrated entirely within the 1906 season, where he was given a brief trial at the top level during a difficult period for the club. Harper managed to hit the scoreboard with a solitary major during his four-game stint, offering a fleeting option in attack for the Pivotonians before drifting out of the league's top flight. While his time on the field was short-lived, he remained a footnote in the club's Federation-era history, living a long life in Victoria before passing away in 1967.
