Bio
Recruited from the Teacher’s Training College, Jim Howe was a wartime addition to the Blues who arrived at Princes Park during the final stages of the Great War. He donned the number 15 guernsey and made his senior debut in the 1918 season, managing to boot a couple of goals during his brief stint at the elite level. Howe played the majority of his football during that debut year, featuring six times as Carlton finished just outside the finals, before adding two final appearances to his tally early in the 1919 season. His career at VFL level was short-lived, concluding as the league began to normalise its playing lists following the return of servicemen from overseas.
