Stats
Bio
Recruited from VFA club Brunswick, Jim Keddie arrived at the Junction Oval in 1927 and immediately established himself as a regular in the senior side. Standing 173cm but weighing a solid 79kg, he was a robustly built wingman who relied more on strength and durability than blistering pace. His playstyle was defined by his role as a link-up player rather than a finisher; despite lining up across the centre and half-forward lines, he remarkably managed only three goals in his 65-game career, preferring to drive the ball deep into attack for teammates. Keddie's tenure coincided with a brief resurgence for the typically struggling Saints, and he was a key member of the 1929 team that broke an 11-year finals drought to reach the semi-finals. He remained a consistent fixture in the starting 18 until his departure following the 1931 season.
