Bio
Jim McGlone was a mature-age recruit from Tasmania who made a brief cameo for Footscray during the 1926 VFL season. Hailing from the Penguin Football Club on the Apple Isle’s north-west coast, he arrived at the Western Oval as a 29-year-old, offering the Tricolours an experienced option in just their second year of VFL competition. McGlone operated primarily in the attacking division, managing to boot three goals across his six senior appearances before drifting out of the league. While his time at the elite level was fleeting, his journey highlights the club's early efforts to scour the country for interstate talent to bolster their list during their formative VFL years.
