Bio
Recruited from Sandhurst in the Bendigo Football League, Jim Meehan was a sturdy half-back who served a diligent apprenticeship in the Richmond reserves before earning his senior opportunity. Standing 183cm, he broke into the Tigers' lineup midway through the 1958 season, debuting against Geelong at Kardinia Park. Although primarily deployed in defence, he managed to snag two goals during his brief five-game stint at the top level. Unable to cement a permanent place at Punt Road, he departed the following year to join Moorabbin in the VFA, later moving to Tasmania where he became a fixture in the north-west coast football community with South Burnie and Smelters.
