Bio
Recruited from the tiny Western District township of Ellerslie, Jim Nash was a diminutive but powerfully built footballer who played two distinct stints for Geelong during the 1930s. Standing just 170cm but weighing a robust 80kg, Nash possessed a stocky, compact frame that made him difficult to dispossess in the contest, primarily operating as a rover or small forward. After a promising debut season in 1935 where he featured in 16 matches, he managed only a handful of appearances the following year before taking a two-season hiatus from the VFL. He returned to the Pivot in 1939, re-establishing himself as a regular senior player and adding valuable experience to the side before his League career concluded at the end of the 1940 season.
