Bio
Recruited from the Northern Knights, Jim Plunkett worked his way onto the AFL stage via the Western Bulldogs' rookie list, earning promotion to make his senior debut in 1999. A tough, ball-winning midfielder who could also operate across half-back, Plunkett played with intensity but often battled to find consistency in his disposal. After two promising seasons at the Whitten Oval where he featured in finals action, he was traded to Carlton ahead of the 2001 season as the Blues sought to add hardened bodies to their engine room. Despite the fresh start, Plunkett struggled to command a regular place in the senior side at Princes Park, drifting in and out of the lineup over three seasons before being delisted at the conclusion of the 2003 season.
