Stats
Bio
Jim Silvestro was a prolific country footballer who earned a shot at the top level as a mature-age recruit. A standout rover for Traralgon in the Latrobe Valley, he won back-to-back league Best and Fairest awards before the Sydney Swans selected him with pick 49 in the 1987 National Draft. Standing at just 173cm, Silvestro was a dangerous option around the stoppages and famously booted four goals in a match-winning performance against West Coast at the SCG in his debut season. Although his senior career was limited to eight games over two years, he remained a respected figure in regional football, later coaching Corowa-Rutherglen and Wodonga in the Ovens & Murray league.
