Stats
Bio
Jim Smith was a powerfully built recruit from Korumburra who had a brief stint with Hawthorn in the late 1960s. Standing 188cm and weighing nearly 100kg, he brought an imposing physical presence to Glenferrie Oval and provided a sturdy option for the Hawks' key position stocks. Smith managed to break into the senior lineup for four games during the 1968 season, but he faced stiff competition for a spot in a team that was beginning to assemble the nucleus of its future premiership dynasty. Unable to cement a regular place in the side, his VFL career was confined to a single season before he moved on from league football.
