Stats
Bio
Recruited from Clifton Hill, Jim Thorpe was a local product who earned a brief trial with Fitzroy during the 1908 VFL season. Joining the club as the league expanded to ten teams, he stepped into a Maroons lineup that was still fiercely competitive despite missing the finals that year. Thorpe played just two senior matches, unable to cement a permanent position in a squad that retained considerable talent from its early premiership years. His stint at the top level was fleeting, representing one of the many short tenures typical of the era's fringe players before he departed the VFL scene.
