Bio
Hailing from the small Goulburn Valley town of St James, Jimmy Deagan arrived at the Junction Oval in 1919 as the VFL looked to rebuild its playing stocks after the Great War. A defensive utility who rarely troubled the scorers, he found it difficult to secure a permanent position in the Saints' best 18, often drifting in and out of the side during his three-season tenure. Deagan enjoyed his most consistent patch of form during the winter of 1920 but could not sustain his place the following year, making just one final appearance in early 1921 before departing the VFL scene.
