Bio
Recruited from South Warrnambool in the Western District, Jimmy Milne arrived at the Junction Oval in 1920 alongside teammate and future Brownlow Medallist Colin Watson. While initially deployed as a centreman and half-forward, Milne found his true calling in defence, where he utilised his magnificent kicking skills to drive the ball out of the back pocket and full-back lines. Despite the Saints' on-field struggles during this period, his individual quality was such that he represented Victoria on two occasions. He retired from VFL football in 1925 to accept a position with the State Electricity Commission in Gippsland, subsequently becoming a legendary figure in country football as a captain-coach for Yallourn and Moe.
