Bio
Recruited from Shepparton in the Goulburn Valley, Jimmy Morris enjoyed one of the most remarkably successful starts to a career in VFL history. He arrived at Carlton late in the 1914 season and made an immediate impact, booting three goals in just his second game before finding himself playing as a rover in a Premiership side in only his fifth senior appearance. A versatile small man who could operate effectively on the wing or in the centre, Morris played in three consecutive Grand Finals across 1914, 1915, and 1916—achieving the rare distinction of featuring in three season-deciders within his first 25 league games. Despite winning two flags during this golden run, his career was brief; he made a solitary appearance in 1917 before departing the league permanently, leaving behind an enviable strike rate in big games.
